We’re excited to launch the first edition of Seaside Swampscott’s Map Brochure* and Website.
To our visitors from afar, Swampscott is pronounced by locals as Swamp-skit with a silent “p”. The “early historical accounts indicate that the Native Americans, referred to as Naumkeags, came to what was called the “land of the red rock” in the seventeenth century to fish and hunt.” Detailed history can be found here: https://www.swampscottma.gov/about-swampscott/pages/history-swampscott
After moving to the North Shore of Boston and falling in love with the seaside community, Lisa Boemer opened a specialty, curated gift shop in February 2020. Although The Hiccup retail shop closed April 2023, the idea of a map/brochure and website of our local area businesses and beyond was created with both residents and visitors alike in mind.
We hope you’ll explore our Restaurant Row along Humphrey Street, enjoy the Boston Skyline at Sunset, a bike ride along our East Coast Greenway, and a day at one of our many beaches! Look for our map/brochure at our local businesses and keep it in your junk drawer for future reference. Be sure to visit us often as we continue to update the events happening Seaside Swampscott and beyond in Boston’s North Shore Communities.
Whether you’re local to Boston’s North Shore Community or visiting us from afar – thank you for supporting our local businesses, and we hope you’ll explore Seaside Swampscott soon!
Best to you and yours!
